While we can't exactly say the world is back to normal, we're happy to report that the the Follow Up Boss product and engineering teams are operating at full strength through the pandemic. We talk to customers almost every day and we're hearing from many of you that while business is still getting done, everything's slower and more difficult. We'll do our part to keep you efficient and productive by making Follow Up Boss work harder than ever for your business.

Now, without further ado, here's everything we released in April!
New Android calling experience
In March, we released an updated iPhone app that made the experience of making and receiving calls in Follow Up Boss much better. As promised, we rolled those same changes out to our Android app in April.
Here's a quick reminder about what's changed:
- Huge call quality improvement. The technology that handles your calls has been completely rebuilt. The details are boring, but the impact is big: Your calls will sound much better.
- Faster and easier call logging so your Follow Up Boss data stays fresh. You'll be prompted to log both inbound and outbound calls as soon as you hang up, and you can do it in just a couple of taps.
We could try to use more words to describe how awesome the new calling experience is, but this video does a much better job 😃
The new version of the Android app should automatically update on your phone, or you can head over to Google Play to download it yourself. Need an in-depth walkthrough of how calling works on Follow Up Boss for Android? There's a detailed support article for that.
Have you installed Pixel yet?
Okay, this isn't exactly a new feature, but after releasing Pixel in February and seeing how all of you are using it, we've been making improvements under the hood. If you haven't installed Pixel on your website yet, there's no better time than now to make this powerful tool work for you. Pixel supports virtually any website platform and integrates seamlessly with Follow Up Boss to let you:
- Easily add CTAs to your site
- Automatically tag marketing sources so you can see what's actually getting you leads
- See all the pages/properties your leads view, save and inquire about
- Get a real-time view of who's on your site
- Create awesome personalized emails/texts that merge in the properties a lead has been checking out
Full details (with videos) on Pixel are in the support center, but here's what you really need to know now: You can install Pixel in just a few minutes on any major website platform. Just open up Follow Up Boss and open up a lead record or your Inbox. If you don't have Pixel installed, you'll see a green button, like this:
Click that button and you'll get easy to follow instructions for getting up and running with Pixel. And if you need help, the Support Team is here to walk you through it.
Deal Report Pipeline View
This new report helps visualize the deals that are in your pipeline. You can look at an individual, team or entire company and even drill into marketing sources to see what campaigns your deals are coming from.
Check out the full walkthrough of the report to see where to find the Pipeline View and how to use it.
The easiest way to see what's new in Follow Up Boss
There's a new tool inside of Follow Up Boss that will draw your attention to things that have changed so you know about new and improved features as soon as we release them. Here's how it works:
When something's new, you'll see a red badge in the upper right corner of the app, next to your picture. Click your picture, and in the menu that opens you'll see a new option called Product Changes.
Click on Product Changes and you'll see a cool window that tells you what's new, where to find it and how to learn more. Here's an explanation of our new Quick Email feature, for example:
Two updates for smoother email
Speaking of Quick Email, April saw a bunch of all-around improvements to how you send email through Follow Up Boss.
1. Quick Email
This new feature lets you...wait for it...send a 'quick email' from anywhere inside of Follow Up Boss. It seems simple, but we think it's going to make life a lot easier for many of you.
There's a new icon at the top of your Follow Up Boss screen:
Click that icon and you'll get a Gmail-style email composer right in the bottom of the window:
It's a simple thing to save you a few clicks here and there (now you don't have to open up a contact to send an email), because Follow Up Boss engineers lie awake at night thinking about ways to make you more efficient. 😃
2. Batch email fixes
There's been a lot of behind the scenes work to improve the batch email experience. Here's just a few highlights:
- Stronger Mailchimp and SendGrid integrations, plus proactive monitoring of Mailchimp and SendGrid connections with alerts if yours gets disconnected
- Improved batch email previews
- Fixed a bug that caused a "Email Missing" error message for some leads
- More accurate batch email send statuses
If you're a heavy batch email user, you should find a bunch of things to be just a little bit better and hopefully that all adds up the whole experience being a lot better. Contact Support with any questions or feedback--these changes came from customer feedback and we'd love to hear about how they're working for you.
That's it for April. We've got some great stuff coming in May, including a big update to how the Inbox works for teams. See you next month!
