While February might be the shortest month of the year, the product team still managed to squeeze in some long awaited new features and improvements!

Highlights:

  • Long awaited updates to the Android app
  • Inbox lead processing for Office 365 emails
  • Improved number management for calling users
  • Lender texting and merge fields to more easily include your lender partner in action plan follow ups

In the background, we’ve also been continuing our deep work to further enhance all our security infrastructure and protocols. Online security is an ongoing effort in order to stay ahead of the latest threats, and to ensure we’re on the leading edge of data protection. We’ve made keeping your important data safe a central part of how we operate, and will continue to make ongoing investments in this area.

New Features

Android app v2.2

We know you Android uses have been watching some of the recent updates rolling out for the iOS app and salivating with envy for when these features would make their way to Android. You’ll be happy to know that we’ve started that work with a number of releases for Android this month that will be continuing for the months to come so you can get rid of that FOMO and get the same deal-closing power of those iOS folks.

  • Call logging changes
  • Bottom navigation bar
  • Lender texting (for lenders with the dialer)
  • Reordered components on lead detail screen

Changes to call logging

Google recently tightened its restrictions over the usage of certain APIs. In order to bring the Android app into compliance with these new rules, we’ve removed a permission from our app that previously allowed us to perform automatic call logging by detecting when users finished calling a lead from Follow Up Boss.

Moving forward users will no longer be prompted to log calls automatically. Instead users should now log these calls manually using a new Log Call button on the lead detail screen.

Bottom navigation bar

The main navigation bar is now docked on the bottom of the app, to make key areas faster to access and to pave the way for some of the updates we’ll be bringing soon.

Reordered components on lead detail screen

Contact info is now displayed above Stage, Source, and other fields. This makes adding a phone number more actionable.

Inbox Lead Processing for Office 365 connected emails.

We have just enabled the ability for account owners using Office 365 to process leads directly through their Office 365 inboxes. This saves you the time it previously took setting up each lead provider to send notifications to your Follow Up Boss lead email address.

For more details on how to use Inbox Lead Processing, you can read the full article here.

New Phone Numbers Page

If you’re using the calling add-on with Follow Up Boss you can now manage all the phone numbers on your account from our new Phone Numbers page. Any admin can access this page through the admin menu. Click here to check it out in your account.

On this page you see all active and released numbers on your account. Released numbers are inactive numbers from users you may have removed or deactivated calling for that you can still access for some time before they are permanently removed from your account.

By using the actions dropdown you can swap any two numbers to change their assignment and you can also change a number for any user, shared inbox, or the company number. Previously, swapping numbers was only possible through a support ticket, but now you can do it whenever you want!

Lender Text and Lender Merge Fields

Lender merge fields are now available for email and text templates to target the assigned lender of a contact. This makes it a whole lot easier to reference and include your lenders in the action plan drip emails you’re sending to leads and clients.

Additionally, lenders that have purchased calling, now have the ability to text leads through that lender-specific number to make collaborating in Follow Up Boss faster and more productive!

Lead Conversion Rate

At the end of the day, a lead source, and the agents who work them, are evaluated on the deals they’re able to bring home for the business.

That’s why the Agent Activity report and Lead Sources report now include lead conversion rate. You can add this column manually or select the closed deals preset report from the menu.

Keep in mind that the conversion rate is based on the number of leads created in the reporting timeframe. For example–if the report timeframe is last year then the conversion rate is the percentage of leads generated last year that converted to a transaction at any point in the future.

Improvements

BombBomb Tracking Links

If you are using our BombBomb integration, when sending emails we now correctly use the links that include tracking abilities that BombBomb provides.

For more information on this integration please see our help article.

Android app v2.3

Inbox Improvements

As part of our effort to improve speed and navigation in the Android app, emails and text messages in your inbox now take you directly to the content rather than to the lead detail screen.

To get to the lead detail screen, simply tap the three dots in the upper right of the email or text messaging screen.

Files drag and drop

While you’ve been able to drag and drop files in the Files section under a person, we added verbiage to let you know you can do that.

Fixes

Android app v2.4

We’ve fixed an issue causing some confusion around claiming leads in the Android app. The confusion was caused by the absence of messaging to inform users when a lead has already been claimed by someone else on the team. In the past, when attempting to claim a lead, if that lead was already claimed by another team member, there was often no visual indication of this fact – now there is.

Also in this update, we’ve added an option for sending text messages via your preferred messaging app. When starting a text message conversation from the lead detail screen, users will now see the option to send via Messages. Users who wish to send a text message via their personal phone number can now choose this option.

Tag Cloud

We recently updated and made our Tag cloud more useable. This caused a couple small issues:

  • Firefox had issues with removing tags
  • When you added tags on the person screen, they would wrap to the next line

These are both now fixed.
